The City of Oxford has partnered with ECICOG to update the City's comprehensive plan. The City and ECICOG will conduct outreach in the community to develop a vision for the community over the next ten years. City residents and business owners will have several opportunities to weigh in to define the vision. The updated plan will provide guidance to City leaders for growth and development that is consistent with the community's vision.

The City Council will hold a public hearing for the plan at 7:00 p.m., July 9th, 2024, at City Hall prior to possible action to adopt the plan.

    The City of Oxford Comprehensive plan 2024-2034 is ready for review! It can be accessed in the documents section on the right side of the page or by following this link. A public hearing will be held for the plan on July 9th, 2024, prior to Council action on possible adoption of the plan, at 7:00 p.m. at City Hall.

    The City is pleased to share the proposed goals and objectives for the updated comprehensive plan. The document below contains very high-level overviews of the major topics from the comprehensive plan and accompanying goals and objectives. Definitions of plan goals and objectives are contained within the document. Community members may provide feedback on proposed goals and objectives until March 18. This can be done through the survey tab or by following the link below. Thank you to all of the community members who contributed to the development of this plan.

    The Comprehensive Planning Committee is reviewing drafts of the updated comprehensive plan. Community input was instrumental in developing the goals and objectives of the plan and vision for Oxford's future. ECICOG will incorporate feedback from the Planning Committee, and the final draft should be ready for public review by late winter.

    Please join the City for a Visioning Workshop in support of the updated comprehensive plan! Several stations will be set up to gather input on a variety of topics regarding the development of Oxford over the next 10 years. Residents may drop in for a few minutes during the workshop to provide their input. Coffee and pastries will be served!

    On Saturday, May 13, 2023, the City of Oxford will host a visioning workshop at Augusta Hall from 9:00 a.m.-11:00 a.m. to gather input for the update to the City's comprehensive plan. Residents will be able to provide ideas for the direction of the City over the next 10 years.

    The City has established a plan steering committee to provide guidance to ECICOG throughout the plan development process. The committee will help to identify issues, define the scope of planning activities, assist with community engagement, and review the plan in development. The City Council is ultimately responsible for the adoption of the plan following a recommendation from the Planning & Zoning Commission. The following volunteers are part of the committee:
