City of Swisher Comprehensive Plan
The City of Swisher has partnered with ECICOG to update the City's comprehensive plan. The City and ECICOG will conduct outreach in the community to develop a vision for the community over the next ten years. City residents and business owners will have several opportunities to weigh in to define the vision. The updated plan will provide guidance to City leaders for growth and development that is consistent with the community's vision.

The plan provides objectives for city leaders to consider pursuing over the next 10 years. These activities would help to improve the quality of life for Swisher community members. The plan also provides a framework for the Planning and Zoning Commission and City Council for reviewing any potential future development proposals. Thank you to the community members who provided their time and input for the development of the plan!

A link to the plan is below. Print copies can be reviewed at City Hall. The Planning and Zoning Commission will hold a public hearing for the plan on November 20th, and a public hearing and consideration by the City Council will occur on November 27th.

The City Planning Committee has reviewed draft goals and objectives and will soon finish reviewing a draft of the plan. A public meeting for the draft plan will be announced soon. Stay tuned!

Participants provided valuable input for the update to the City's comprehensive plan. Swisher Fun Days and the Legion Women's Auxiliary were in attendance to talk to residents about ways to get involved in the community. Input activities were held at the following stations:
- Land use/transportation
- Downtown improvements
- Community growth
- Community achievements
- Housing
The community survey closed on January 20, 2023. 125 individuals responded! A summary of the input received at the town hall event and through the resident survey will be shared on this project page in the future.

The meeting is scheduled for 5:30-7:00 p.m. at the American Legion Hall.

The committee will help to identify issues, define the scope of planning activities, assist with community engagement, and review the plan in development. The City Council is ultimately responsible for the adoption of the plan following a recommendation from the Planning & Zoning Commission.
